VIELMETTER LOS ANGELES is pleased to announce a new series of focused presentations in our online shop — highlighting artworks created by our preparators. 

The gallery would not be able to execute its steady schedule of exhibitions, art fairs, and other presentations without the tireless effort and staunch dedication of our most valued team of art handlers — and it is with great pleasure that we can celebrate and exhibit their talents and ambitions as artists.

The inaugural artist featured in our online shop is Evelia Magallon, who has worked at Vielmetter Los Angeles for the past two years. In the spirit of the gallery’s ongoing commitment to artists and the arts, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Evelia’s works will be donated to benefit the artist and the L.A. Art Workers Relief Fund.

Evelia Magallon

Evelia Magallon is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the delicate peculiarities of organic life within contemporary modes of construction and decay. Often working with materials like concrete, plaster, refuse, plants and found elements, she creates objects which speak to each other in a common, if broken vernacular, existing in the spaces between piles of rubble and dust. There is usually some tethered moment of familiarly, grounding the work despite its amorphous, questioning nature.

Evelia graduated from the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture with a BA in Fine Art in 2014. Most recently she has shown at Tin Flats (strap your hands across my engine, 2018 group show), LBCC Art Gallery and performed in the Terrain Biennial.
